Using Media to Cover Stonehill Graduation
Stonehill College is a well respected college around the country, especially in the east coast. It deserves to have some media coverage, and in doing so it would benefit the college, but also allow for a greater experience for Stonehill graduates. If their are lots of reporters and cameras at your graduation, it might be kind of cool to have that kind of publicity. It also helps the college because it markets the college, showing them the luxurious campus in the background, but also the graduates that are going to make a difference in the world. It helps in multiple ways, and the use of media on the internet, on the TV, and in the newspaper could all do the trick. Media is a good way to market any event, let alone a college graduation. Some people might think that it is a bit excessive, but when you think about it, it helps the college, that graduates, and then just spirals from there. It's a good idea, I think.
Importance of Good Notes
This is a no brainer. You need to take good notes otherwise your new story is just trash. Good notes is essential in good news writing. Whenever interviewing someone, or researching a certain topic, you need to have a lot of information, but not only good information but need to have good notes. When you are writing a news story, you most likely need to make a deadline. So, you need to be able to write a good, and efficient story in a little amount of time. This is why you need to take good, organized notes so when it's time to write that news story you know where all the information is, and you don't need to go fishing through your notes. It is one thing to have lots of information, but its another to have them well organized, and taking good notes.
My Opinion On Citizen Journalism
My opinion on citizen journalism is one that I believe many others have. I think it is extremely important, why not? The ability to have citizens involved in the reporting and writing aspects of news just makes the news that is reported out more credible. For instance, citizens can give eye witness information about an event or situation that went down, that had reporters not reached out to every day citizens, might not have been available to put into the news story. It also gives multiple perspectives, views, and ideas from a wide range, which in turn makes for a better well rounded news story. I really like the idea of citizen journalism.
